FAQ

Questions

Should I tell the other side?

Yes. Let attendees know at the start that the meeting is being captioned.

Does it work with the Zoom app?

Open the meeting’s web version in Chrome or Edge on a computer. A meeting bot is in preparation.

Does it show who is speaking?

For now captions appear without speaker names.

Can I run it if I am not hosting the meeting?

The attendee who needs translation runs it on their own computer using the meeting web tab’s audio. Tell attendees about captioning when you start.

Do attendees opening the link need to sign in?

Attendees reading through the link do not sign in. The attendee running it signs in with Google and enables reading languages before starting.

Is the meeting audio saved?

Audio is not saved; only caption transcripts per language remain. They have no speaker names and are machine-translated, so check important agreements against the original.
